One of the attractions of Sweetwaters is the history behind it. In 1988, the former owners Lonhro Africa took over the management of the ranch. In 1989 they set up the Sweetwaters Game Reserve as a sanctuary for the endangered black rhino and other wildlife populations (including the “Big Five”). Between 1989 and 1993, twenty-two black rhinos were introduced into Sweetwaters from other sanctuaries. Today, with the birth of 29 calves the population has steadily increased, making Sweetwaters a successful breeding ground for these ancient animals. After game drives, proceed back to the Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary where you will freshen up followed by dinner and overnight at the camp. (B,L,D)

  • Dinner at restaurant.Drinks not included

  • Overnight at hotel – Double standard room with breakfast

Buenos Aires is often called the “Paris of South America,” for its soaring architecture and rich European heritage. But the city and its people, known as porteños, are a study in contrasts: European sensibilities and Latin American passion; wide boulevards and cobblestone alleys; steamy tango and romping rock and roll; sidewalk cafés and soccer fanatics; bejeweled ladies draped in fur coats and children rummaging through garbage for cardboard scraps.

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will be greeted at Ezeiza International Airport by an experienced guide who is just waiting to introduce you to one of the world's most exciting cities.

Rising suddenly and dramatically out of the interminable flatness of the Pampas, Buenos Aires is a teeming, throbbing cosmopolitan city with a unique mix of European, North American, and South American elements. It is one of the world’s great ports, the home of every third Argentine, and an increasingly popular travel destination. The soul of the city bears an irresistible allure to Argentines and visitors alike, its parks, cafés, streets, theatres, museums, markets, restaurants- and its homes- the elegant, the chic, the eccentric, the everyday. After breakfast, you'll visit the most important sites of this triumph of a city. The magnificence of the Northern quarters, Palermo and the beauty of its parks and buildings, Recoleta with its French-style architecture, bars and cafes; the imposing Colon Theater, one of the five most important opera houses in the world; Plaza de Mayo surrounded by Government House (The Pink House), The Old Cabildo (Town Hall) and the Metropolitan Cathedral; San Telmo, residence of the aristocracy until the turn of the XIX century. The colors of La Boca, picturesque quarter of Italian immigrants; and the fashion area of Puerto Madero with its many chic bars & restaurants round off this heady excursion.

It now varies from open grass plains in the south, savannah with scattered acacia trees in the centre, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west. Small rivers, lakes and swamps are scattered throughout. In the south-east rise the great volcanic massifs and craters of the Ngorongoro Highlands. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is home of Ngorongoro Crater. It was formed some 2.5 million years ago from a volcanic mountain sinking due to inactivity, and was initially thought to be higher than Tanzania’s famous Kilimanjaro. The crater has evolved into a unique and integral part of Tanzania’s eco-system.

The crater is actually a caldera, measures 22.5 km’s across and the rim walls stand 600m high. Views from within and from the rim are breathtaking (as can be seen from the picture). The crater houses 30,000 animals and a large variety of birds, which rarely move from the area due to the availability of water through wet and dry seasons. Leave Ngorongoro in the late afternoon and proceed to Tarangire arriving at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight (LDBB).
